AUTHENTIC DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST

Our mission is simple and direct. Jesus Christ commissioned his church to go and make disciples. Therefore, our singular ministry is to proclaim the gospel to every person, bringing them into relationship with Jesus and teaching them to obey him in all things.

We glorify God by making authentic disciples of Jesus Christ who are anchored to the truth, passionate about the mission, and engaged in our community.

We stay focused on Jesus’ command by highlighting three core values.

Truth

The Bible is our standard. What it teaches, we believe. What it commands, we do. When it speaks, we listen. Every ministry and teaching of Smyrna First flows from the pages of God’s Word. We practice expository preaching and careful study of Scripture that we might be anchored to the ancient truth given to us for everything pertaining to life and godliness.

Mission

Making disciples of Jesus is our passion because it is the hope of humanity. Jesus gave us this mission and we find our deepest happiness in following him. Every ministry of Smyrna First is aimed at making disciples, from evangelism to small groups and from the pulpit to the cradle, we desire to help people know and love Jesus.

Community

We love to be together. Jesus creates the church to be made up of many individuals united in one body. We observe baptism and the Lord’s Supper together for this reason. But we also exist inside of a larger community. We love Smyrna and want to be engaged in serving her. We believe one of the best ways to show our love for Jesus is to love our community well.
