Motion
Subject to meeting the full conditions of a Memorandum of Understanding, First Baptist Church will sell our current facility to the City of Smyrna for $15,800,000. First Baptist will purchase 5.5 acres of land on Atlanta Road from the City of Smyrna for $3,300,000. During Construction and until premises are vacated, First Baptist will pay the City of Smyrna $300,000 to lease the present church campus.
The Results
After our vote on August 27, 2023, the motion passed 59% to 41%. The Smyrna City Council will take up the issue on September 18th and we will have more information on next steps once it becomes available.
